I was literally so excited for Rent as it is my favorite musical of all time. I also bought this as a birthday gift, but it got pushed back for basically 2 years because of covid. I was also having a pretty rough mental health month around when the musical happened, so I honestly needed this. The vocals were fucking crazy, ESPECIALLY for Collins. I’ll Cover You Reprise was actually crazy like just thinking about it makes me so sad LMAO. I feel like Roger’s vocals was slightly weaker, but it’s also Roger lmao. I surprisingly did not cry that much during the I’ll Cover You Reprise but Will I got me BAD. Like I was so close to sobbing I was fighting for my life holding it back :’) The one issue was probably all the sound issues, which I had no idea what was going on. Roger was having mic issues for the entirety of Act one, they even had to switch him to a handheld mic mid-song like I was like oop… The actor handled it well though, it was honestly well-solved. I need to see Rent again man :’)
