I did not expect this musical to hit me so hard but wowww. It makes me proud to see how far the Chinese musical theatre industry has come because wow. The elements of traditional Chinese music was incorporated so well and the staging was really beautiful as well. The storytelling was clear and well-paced, and the vocals were VERY strong as well. The actors did a great job bringing us on every character’s journey and change throughout the whole show, and the last scream at the end by the female lead was actually bone-chilling. Would 100% love to see the show again (even though I know it is going to be a sad ending).
